Hi,

About the Activate headset function, how is it supposed to work?
I have a Qtek 9100 and a Plantronics 590A Bluetooth stereo headset (A2DP).
As long as bt is activated and my headset is switched on I can answer calls, however if I want to listen to music I have to open the bt settings and tap and hold my headset, then push "activate stereo headset". If I then take a long call I usually have to repeat the last steps again because the stero setting seems to time out and has to be activated again.
I was thinking that this was what the Activate headset function was for but maybe it is not. It's never worked for me that way at least.

If not, this is certainly a feature I would like to request in v1.60. Either that or a function where you can "record" a number of steps that pAl then can replicate. I've seen some programs around that allows you to record certain steps that you do often and have them executed with just the push of a button.

Hi,

You can use Mortscript to create what you want! and set that as a shortcut.

Does anyone know of an example of this (i.e., Mortscript for a macro to set "Wireless Stereo", with a PA trigger)?

Also, this may sound dumb, but what does the "headset full" trigger actually do? And is that what certain fo the PA skins are linking to?

I posted a solution for a mono headset at PdaPhoneHome.com. It might also work for your stereo headset. Look at post #212 at this link:

Thanks, beachbum... I use BTaudio for mono stuff, and that's a neat script you wrote for the phone call problem.

Wireless stereo is another kettle of fish, though. I searched, and only found one effort at creating a Mortscript to deal with it (which didn't seem all that great to me). Still looking for a good solution.

And I'll ask again: What is "headset full"?

Major bump... (for a reason!)

I've just switched to a Samsung i760 with Verizon, and, well, "Houston, we have a problem." It seems that the BT functionality is *slightly* messed up. Read that as: FUBAR.

When more than one BT device is paired using the same function (i.e., handsfree or GPS or whatever), the service checkmark gets unchecked whenever you change connections. As an example, if you have a both a BT headset and a BT car speaker paired, both as handsfree, you should be able to just reconnect and transition back and forth between the two seamlessly. With the i760, you are forced to go into the BT screen and re-check handsfree for whatever device you currently want to use.

Major PITA. Big thread about it here, at what is currently the most active i760 forum:

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-sch-i760/93681-multiple-bluetooth-devices-not-auto-reconnecting.html

The reason that I've re-activated this thread is that I remembered 1) querying as to the functionality of the "activate headset / headset full" icon in certain pA skins, and 2) some mention of Mortscript solutions for similar problems.

Also, fyi, a couple of people at PDAPhoneHome have already suggested that Bruce might be THE MAN to figure out a fix!  afro

So... anybody have a clue as to how to fix our i760 problem? Smiley

Thanks,
Richard

Hi,

Will add it to my list for the v2.0 release and see what is possible.
When beta starts - (in late Jan.) will request more info

v1.64 which will be posted today supports "On headset" automatic switching for the i760 (i760 DOES use totally non-standard registry settings)

Thanks for the quick response.

For those of us that are less technically adept, what does that mean?

With v1.64 when you connect bluetooth headset or handfree then profile will switch automatically on i760 (if requested in settings of course  wink)

OK, I've installed 1.64... I am not totally sure how the "active headset" function works, and specifically applies to the situation with the i760.

Do I need to change profiles to trigger the activation? And/or, should I set up different profiles for each BT device using the same service (e.e., headset or handsfree)?

Thanks...

As I said: With v1.64 when you connect bluetooth headset or handfree then profile will switch automatically on i760

On the i760 when a headset is connected the profile will switch automatically to requested profile (as specified in Automatic Profile settings)
If you want ringtones on headset for incoming call, you need to have "Auto answer" option enabled in the Profile, or "Auto-pickup" enabled on the Advanced settings.

Not sure I understand. In my Home profile, I turned on the Auto headset settings.

When I switch between two headsets (i.e., turn one off, and then turn the other on), I am still not getting the BT handsfree service turned on. That's why I asked about setting up multiple profiles... if I were to switch profiles when I switch BT devices, would it force the auto-headset activation?

Thanks,
Richard

Then i760 has broken bluetooth support - that phoneAlarm can't fix. I assume there will be an ROM update when manufacturer fixes that?
