Hello all.

I am noticing a significant and problematic slow-down on incoming call functions using the current release version of pA (2.15) on my Fuze.  It takes quite a while for the phone to begin ringing - even after the lights begin flashing.  Additionally, picking up with my Jawbone 2 is frequently problematic as well.

I did a hard reset, did not reinstall pA and had no such issues.  Notification of incoming calls was instantaneous and my BT headset picks up right away.  That said, running w/o pA is like, well, it's too horrible to describe.  I love pA.

I have installed pA Light to see if there is any improvement in the situation and will report.

Anyone else with these kinds of issues?

This is a known issue with TouchPros.  It's not a function of PA.  Oftentimes, people have seen the ringing occur a few seconds after the lights start to flash.  They (HTC) need to fix this.  Check out the forums on PPCgeeks or XDA-Developers (Specifically for the TP) or even BuzzAboutWireless (Sprint's own site for phone questions).

Yeah!  The TP certainly isn't a model of "works well" here - and I think running the ATT ROM doesn't improve things.

But when I don't run pA, things are much speedier - and more stable.

Hi,

Ringtones have a 3 second delay by default (Microsoft designed it this way to improve stability I believe) - try using the "Vibrate & Ring without pause" ringtype in profile, if that helps you can design your own ringtype scripts without the delay in the "Power User" settings

I have the verizon Touch pro.... I use WAV type ringtones and it decreses the time to ring from 3 to 2 and then if you disable the HTC dialer skin that sometimes now makes my phone ring right after the caller hears1 ring!!

Thanks, Bruce.  I'll try that on the weekend and report back.

Hi, did this work for you?  I'm curious before I try to implement it myself.

Changing the Ring Type to "Vibrate and ring without pause" has made a remarkable difference in 1) the speed with which my phone notifies me of an incoming call (now almost immediate) and 2) the stability with which I can pick-up the call using my BT headset (now using the spectacular SoundId HD300).

Additionally, I moved the ring tones I use from the card to the phone itself (HTC Fuze - Touch Pro on AT&T).  I don't perceive any additional decrease in notification time, but what the heck.

Thanks, Bruce!

I'll add some more "without pause" options to v2.16 so that users have more options for that

I'd appreciate hearing from users who use the "Vibrate and ring without pause" option if you see any problems with it. I was never really sure why Microsoft/HTC etc. all decided that a 3 second delay was required!!
